The Long Drive

We now had a long drive to  Bruny Island on the southern tip of Tassie, managing a few stops along the way to stretch our legs. It was an incredibly windy and deserted road through the wilderness ; apart from the roadkill that is, we counted 15 wallabies in one half  hour section.

A viewpoint outside Queenstown, one of the mining communities along the way.

A rope bridge along the Franklin River, the starting point for many of the hikes into the wilderness.
At long last we reached Hobart, from where we caught the ferry to the South Bruni Island, and then the final drive down "The Neck",the narrow isthmus, into Adventure Bay and our  modernistic Air B&B with steel and glass everywhere.
